The manufacturer's paints we offer are solvent-based formulas. They allow faster drying, much easier application and no runs. They are expected to have significantly better durability compared to water-based paints.

2K paints, which are two-component polyurethane finishes, are available only for opaque or older colours that do not include pearlescent or metallic pigments.

Here is a summary of how to apply your MG colour code paint :
In general, these are modern colours, and therefore metallic or pearlescent paints. For this type of MG paint, you simply need to apply very thin coats, either with a paint gun or an aerosol, until the surface is fully covered.

The paint should be applied smoothly and evenly, using left-to-right movements. The interval between each coat is mainly determined by the fineness or thickness of the layers and also by the ambient temperature. It is strongly recommended to apply your MG colour code paint between 15 and 25 degrees. When the temperature is too low, the paint does not dry and may run. When the temperature is too high, the paint may dry mid-air and cause a “powdery” effect.

Like all single-component paints, which today account for more than 95% of MG manufacturer colours, it is imperative to apply a Topcoat after painting. It is this two-component Topcoat, glossy  and resistant, that will protect your MG paintwork from abrasion, rain, fuel, and more.

MG is a car manufacturer originally from Great Britain, founded in 1920. This English brand became renowned for its passion and success in numerous motor races.
MG is known for its coupé-style sports cars and two-seater vehicles, with high-performance engines whose capacity does not exceed 3 Litres.
The Founder of MG Motors started as a mechanic and dealer. He used to modify branded  vehicles - essentially performing customisation - then added his own MG plate to the modified vehicles.
After the sale of the company in 1935, the British manufacturer changed hands several times. Since 2007, MG has been owned by a Chinese car manufacturer.
