Choosing your paint type: With the exception of vintage colours, which can be formulated in both 1K and 2K versions, all modern colours are only available in a 1K basecoat version. All our paints are solvent-based.
Glossary of definitions
1K basecoat for a single-component paint
2K paint for a two-component polyurethane paint
Solvent-based paints for bodywork are particularly well suited for renovation work and can also be used by private individuals. They offer many advantages over modern water-based automotive paints, which ofter pose challenges in application, sanding and masking.
Solvent-based paints are very thin, dry quickly, apply easily and provide excellent long-term durability, with better resistance to heat, UV rays and weathering.
Of course, all basecoats - whether water-based or solvent-based - must be coated with a topcoat. The clearcoat ensures durability, thanks to its thickness, gloss, and chemical hardening process via activator.

Ettore and his son Jean, the two key figures in the company's rise, died in 1947 and 1939 respectively. Meanwhile, Bugatti had established itself as a pioneer in the field of luxury and speed.

Bugatti's legacy is deeply tied to its legendary racing cars, such as the Bugatti Veyron (discontinued in 2015) and Chiron, both equipped with the 8-litre W16 engine. In 2019, the Chiron Super Sport model reached a record-breaking speed of 490 km/h.
For BUGATTI vehicles, the VIN plate showing the colour code may be located in two places:
