Fluorescent Paint for Bodywork
Fluorescent paint emits more light than it receives – that is the secret behind the intense brilliance of fluorescent colours.
They instantly capture attention in daylight or semi-darkness.
Our automotive paints are solvent-based, single-component (1K basecoat) and ready to use. They are designed for spray gun application only.
Because these paints are semi-transparent, it is essential to apply them over a perfectly white background (paint or primer).
To create the white background, it is recommended to use a white 2K paint or a 2K white primer sanded with P320–P500.
For the 1K basecoat, you can add 3–5% of any hardener to improve hardness. White 1K basecoats are available in cans or aerosols.
You will find suitable white paints on our website (in the Basecoats or Primers sections).
Fluorescent colours are more fragile under sunlight than classic shades. We therefore strongly recommend applying our special protective anti-UV Topcoat (see Clearcoats section), which offers the best protection against UV radiation.
The RAL colour chart is available as a downloadable PDF on the article pages below.
Important: As indicated on our website, fluorescent colours should not be unnecessarily exposed to sunlight due to their high UV sensitivity.
Here are some tips to help maintain the brightness of the colours:
Apply our protective Topcoat for enhanced UV resistance. Apply as many fluorescent coats as possible (six coats will last roughly twice as long as three). Finally, avoid parking the vehicle in direct sunlight, as there is currently no solution that guarantees 100% protection for these paints.
Longevity of fluorescent colours:
To extend the lifespan of fluorescent shades, we strongly recommend applying our UV-protective Topcoat (see Vanish section), which effectively shields the paint from sunlight. Without UV protection, fluorescent paint may fade rapidly when exposed directly to the sun.
To preserve the fluorescence intensity for as long as possible, apply multiple layers of fluorescent paint to build sufficient film thickness.
LinaQuartz nano ceramic protectionis provides powerful UV resistance.
Mixture:
Our fluorescent automotive paints are solvent-based and ready for use. You may add 20–40% thinner to improve flow.

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
DESTINATION: Car, motorcycle, decoration
ASPECT: Intense semi-transparent colours with a matt finish
Theoretical coverage: 3 m²/L
MIX: Product ready to use
APPLICATION: On a white background sanded with P320–P500. Apply several thin coats until full coverage is achieved. Clearcoating within 15–30 minutes is compulsory.
► Strengthen the protection of your paint by adding an anti-UV additive to the Topcoat.
Discover the concentrated anti-UV additive (dosage: max 1.5% in the Topcoat and 3% in the paint).
Warning: It is essential to apply the transparent Topcoat within 10–20 minutes after applying the fluorescent paint.
RESISTANCE: Sensitive to UV and to heat above 150°C.
SETTINGS: Spray gun – Nozzle 1.0 to 1.2 mm / Air pressure: 2.5 to 3.5 bar.
DRYING AT 20°C: Dust-free in 5–20 min / Touch dry in 15–30 min.
Advice: It's preferable to have a thick coat to extend the paint lifetime.
Advice :
A thicker film will extend the paint’s lifespan.
Adding 5% of any hardener to the fluorescent bodywork paint will result in slower drying but improved curing.
