HRC300 - Fluo paint for RC and lexan models - 10 Colors HIKARI R/C

Fluorescent paints for RC models are composed of special pigments that give them their exceptionally bright colors.

FLUO colors for Lexan

These colors produce an intensity superior to all other paints : they emit more light than they receive through the phenomenon of fluorescence.

These flashy colors are declined in a series of 10 colors for the radio controlled devices.

► Application tips: When applying paint directly to the inside of a transparent Lexan body, we strongly recommend first applying our transparent adhesion primer for Lexan to ensure optimal adhesion and prevent peeling.

Important tips:

certain special colours are applied in several layers; this is the case with fluorescent paints, where a fluorescent layer is applied followed by a layer of white. When using adhesive masking tape – and particularly for very fine logos – to prevent the paint from peeling off unevenly when the masking tape is removed, it is important to consider the thickness and number of layers

► Avoid applying a thick layer of paint, as this can create resistance once dry; instead, apply the thinnest possible layer required to achieve the desired colour.

► Similarly, avoid layering more than two colours or different types of paint, again to prevent the paint from becoming too thick before the masking tape is removed.

Adhesion on Lexan

The special formula of the fluorescent RC paint guarantees a perfect adhesion on Lexan®. The paint is specifically adapted to adhere to this type of plastic.

On leather and imitation leather, HIKARI RC primers, paints and varnishes produce outstanding results when customising jackets, shoes and other items made from synthetic materials.

Flexibility

The Hikari RC FLUO paint also allows an excellent flexibility, to avoid any risk of delamination during the use of radio-controlled devices on the circuits. The painted fairings are subjected to extreme conditions (stones, gravel, scratches, shocks, heat...)

Semi-opaque fluorescent colors

The particularity of fluorescent paints comes from their pigments. These pigments have a low opacity and are called « semi-transparent » colors :

It is imperative to cover them from the back with a coat of opaque white (See HIKARI RC opaque paints)

Characteristics and use

HIKARI RC FLUO paints are ready to use
for airbrushes with 0.4 mm to 0.5 mm nozzles and spray guns
Thinning is not necessary
Pressure 2.5-3 bars and airbrush nozzle 0.4mm-0.5mm
Application in 3 to 5 coats, to obtain the maximum color.

Support :

the fluorescent paint can be applied directly on Lexan® or after the transparent primer for Lexan
It is recommended to degrease well the background (with our HRC104 degreaser), and to sand with a grey abrasive sponge.
The white coat, to create the opaque background, must necessarily be applied quickly (15-60min) after the fluorescent paint, to benefit from the "wet-on-wet" adhesion effect
