All bodywork paints can be matched : this is the case with the colour codes of Italian motorcycles and more particularly, the colour codes of BENELLI motorcycles, which can generally be offered in two versions, the version of the water-based paints and traditional solvent-based versions.
The original colours of this Italian manufacturer are faithfully reproduced and exactly match the original factory shade. To produce these paints, we refer to a database and we take particular care in monitoring the formula : the composition of a colour is done with a precision balance, with the successive addition of several concentrated shades. The addition of these colours can be done with a precision of the order of a hundredth of a gram. Our colourist technicians have a long experience in the field of the preparation of motorcycle paints and in particular BENELLI paints. For this, you can trust us to prepare your paint.
Since 1999, a new regulation at European level has required all bodywork painters to use acrylic water-based paints. This new type of paint and technology is a certain progress in the field of ecology, but it brings many constraints in the profession of painting on motorcycles and cars.
It is often reported by painters that these paints suffer from many defects, such as differences in hue, difficulty in drying, but also flaking. It is also reported that the average life of these new water-based paints is shorter than that of conventional solvent-based paints, whose life expectancy is 10 or 20 years without problems.
We therefore only offer solvent-based versions, which do not comply with European VOC regulations and which must normally be intended for decoration, the repair of old vehicles, the painting of any type of quad, jet ski, or other objects. Our paints are of professional quality, they dry extremely quickly and are particularly easy to use, even for the inexperienced user who has never used automotive paint before.
The motorcycle colour codes of the BENELLI brand
The paints of the Italian motorcycle brand are very specific and are listed in a database present in our computer colourimetry software. We do not have all the recipes for the paints of the Italian brand. Very often, unfortunately, we cannot find the colour code, either because the motorcycle colour is too old or too rare, or when it is a modern colour that is too recent. In the latter case, the colourist from our colour laboratory in Italy will not have had time to match the factory colour.
As the owner of the motorcycle and the applicator, you must first of all carry out your own research concerning the reference of your paint. Without this information, which comes in the form of a BENELLI colour code and also a BENELLI colour name, it will be nearly impossible for us to sort through the dozens or even hundreds of colour codes present in our software.
Once you have placed the order on the web page of our site, you can send us this colour code by email and we can immediately proceed with the composition of your BENELLI paint. About fifteen minutes are needed to prepare the BENELLI shade and to condition it in a can or even in a spray.
Shipping is usually done the same day of the order, provided that the latter was made before 1 p.m. You will receive in less than 24 hours a box containing the factory colour of your BENELLI motorcycle. All you have to do is apply it! For this, our team is there to follow you and help you to make a success of your touch-up or complete paintwork project.
The history of the manufacturer BENELLI
The foundation of the Benelli brand dates back to 1911 in Italy by the family of the same name. Originally, it was a mechanical and repair workshop for motorcycles and cars. From simple repair shops, the family business moved on to the manufacture of mechanical parts and the small company worked so well that 9 years later, in 1920, they presented their first engine manufactured entirely by Benelli, with a displacement of 75 cm³. From there, it wasn't long before the small team built their first motorcycle, which was dubbed the "light motorcycle" (motoleggera).
The success of this first Benelli motorcycle caught on like wildfire and it was quickly reinvented with more powerful engine versions.
The small Benelli motorcycle will even enter the world of races and championships. It was to achieve rapid and phenomenal success there between 1927 and 1931. The rider was none other than Antonio Benelli, who unfortunately suffered a serious accident in 1932, which put an end to his career.
Motorcycle development continues and the factory presents a new motorcycle, with a 250cc engine. This motorcycle will win several famous races and will be very successful in Italy during the pre-war era.
Unfortunately, during the Second World War, the Benelli company and its factory were totally destroyed. It will be necessary to rebuild everything after the war and start afresh with the creation of a new manufacturing plant and even a stable for motorcycle racing.
The period between 1970 and 1990 will experience a moment of financial turmoil. The small company will be bought by an entrepreneur who will adapt it to the modern internationalised world. Competition is strong both in Italy and around the world, with manufacturers in Europe, Japan, but also in the United States.
Since 2005, the company has been bought by a Chinese group. However, the activity and manufacturing continue with the same teams and the same factory located in Pesaro, Italy.
Where to find the colour code of your BENELLI motorcycle ?
Like thousands of motorcyclists, today you are faced with the search for your colour code. For BENELLI motorcycles, the matter is not simpler than for other brands, and even on the contrary. Finding the reference of a paint is unfortunately not an easy thing because this information does not generally appear on any document of the motorcycle.
Those who have tried their hand at interviewing their local dealer have unfortunately found that it is difficult to obtain a BENELLI colour code. Often, a dealer is unable to know the BENELLI colour codes or names, for motorcycles older than 5 or 10 years.
Fortunately, there are ways to find paint references by browsing the web, including participating in discussions on forums specialising in the Italian brand BENELLI. Whether in French, Italian or English, this is the best source of community information.
