If you own a Malaguti motorcycle, scooter or bicycle and you plan to carry out small paintwork, then you can order the colour codes for Italian motorcycles from this manufacturer on our website. We offer all types of packaging, whether you need to do a small touch-up or a complete paint job. Malaguti paints are available in 400 ml aerosol sprays and also in cans (from 0.25 L to 2 L).
All our Malaguti manufacturer colours are perfectly identical to the original shades. We supply them in solvent-based versions, in a one-component paint formula.
You will find the Malaguti colour codes on the product page below and, to place your order, simply choose the volume from the drop-down menu. You can enter your Malaguti colour code during the shopping cart stage, or send it to us by email after placing the order.
We are entirely at your disposal, both from the commercial and technical departments, to answer your questions. We can verify the existence and availability of a code. However, we remind you that we cannot identify a colour code for you, even if you provide us with the model and year of your motorcycle.
It is therefore up to you to carry out the necessary research if you do not have the reference for your paint. We explain how in the following paragraphs.
The Malaguti brand motorcycle colour codes
Depending on the model year of your motorcycle, the type of colour may vary: in fact, significant changes took place in the manufacturing of paints between the 1900s and the 2000s. Specifically, we are referring to the systematic introduction of pearlescent and metallic effects in paints from around the year 2000.
In practical terms, this means that older paints were simpler, consisting of solid and opaque shades, which could be finished in 2K paint. Nowadays, all colours are only offered as 1K basecoats. These paints therefore require a Topcoat (bodywork clearcoat).
Only a 2K clearcoat can provide guaranteed resistance to abrasion, weathering and, most importantly, hydrocarbons.
For this reason, we do not recommend purchasing your Malaguti paint or clearcoat from a general-purpose retail outlet. On our website, you will only find professional-grade products of the highest quality, which ensure long-lasting durability of your finish.
Your Malaguti colour code may also require a primer. In the absence of specific recommendations, a medium grey primer should be used. Certain shades may require a specific primer colour, depending on the Malaguti paint. Don’t worry, our paint technicians take care of everything and will contact you if a particular undercoat colour is required.
The history of the Malaguti manufacturer
Founded in Italy in 1930, Malaguti is an Italian manufacturer of bicycles, scooters and motorcycles. It was founded by Antonio Malaguti.
Antonio was only 22 years old at the time and was a cycling enthusiast who competed at a high level. Initially, the company was a bicycle repair and maintenance workshop.
Antonio Malaguti’s small business grew steadily and successfully until the difficult period of the Second World War, during which Italy suffered heavily, with nearly 90% of its factories destroyed.
Fortunately, the Malaguti factory escaped the worst of the bombings and emerged from the war relatively intact. It was able to take advantage of the post-war economic boom and the strong demand that followed. In 1949, he adapted a small engine to his bicycles, marking the beginning of what would become the Malaguti motorcycle. This first model was constantly improved with the addition of suspension, drum brakes and a 50cc fuel tank.
The company remained focused on bicycle manufacturing until around 1958, when it truly entered the motorcycle market.
From the late 1950s onwards, the Italian factory began producing real scooters and motorcycles. The company enjoyed continuous success and growth until 2010, when Malaguti encountered difficulties due to competition from low-cost Asian motorcycles and scooters.
As a result, most production plants were closed, and in 2018 the Italian brand was acquired by the Austrian group KSR.
Where to find the colour code of your Malaguti motorcycle ?
Don’t have the reference for your Malaguti paint shade? You can consult the manufacturer’s website or check the original documentation that came with your bike, scooter or motorcycle—if you purchased it new.
Malaguti is an Italian brand and hundreds of thousands of customers own bikes or scooters from its factories. We therefore advise you to visit online forums dedicated to the Italian brand. These forums are likely to be in Italian. However, they offer the best chance of finding your colour code.
As for us, we can provide a list of the Malaguti colour codes we have. A production year may be indicated alongside each code. Other than that, it may be difficult to determine with certainty which code corresponds to your machine.
The iconic colours of Malaguti motorcycles
There are no colours particularly emblematic of Malaguti scooters or motorcycles. From bright yellow to vivid red, and raw aluminium, the brand has produced many beautiful colours since the 1960s.
At StardustColors, you will find the widest selection of Malaguti colours, as our colour reproduction laboratory is located in Italy. We are the only supplier capable of offering such an extensive range of Malaguti shades.
