To order your paint with the Lancia colour code, it's extremely simple :
If you place the order today before 2:30 p.m., we will mix the paint immediately and ship it today.
If you don't know your Lancia paint code, then we cannot search for you - it is impossible to find a code using only the car model or year.
We can help you locate this code, which is somewhere on the bodywork of your Lancia vehicle. If in doubt, we can consult the Lancia database to check the validity of the reference you have found.
In the following paragraphs, you will find indications on the paintwork, the location of the code in the vehicle, as well as examples of Lancia paint references.
Ordering is quick and easy. We particularly invite you to take the necessary time to read all the instructions detailed on the product page. If you understand and follow them exactly, you will be able to successfully carry out your car touch-up job.
Even if you don't own a spray gun, we assure you that you can still achieve professional-quality results simply using aerosols, as we also offer aerosols filled with the paint that corresponds to your vehicle.
We also offer paints in cans, with formats from 0.25L (pre-diluted ) up to 1L (pure paint delivered with 1L of thinner).
The pre-diluted paint can be applied directly from the can.
The pure paint must be mixed with thinner, up to 50-70%.
All mixing instructions above apply to 1K basecoat paints. If your Lancia colour code corresponds to a model less than 20 years old, then there is every chance that your paint should be ordered in 1K basecoat. Nowadays, 2K paints are no longer used. This is naturally due to the fact that the majority of modern paintwork - in particular, Lancia colour codes - consists of metallic and pearlescent shades.
After applying the paint corresponding to the Lancia colour code, it is imperative to apply a professional gloss bodywork Topcoat.
An important concept specific to the field of bodywork paintwork is the term "wet on wet": this refers to the requirement to apply the Topcoat directly and quickly after applying the solvent-based Lancia paint. This application method ensures perfect adhesion between layers.
The Lancia brand was founded in November 1906 by one of the team's racing drivers, accompanied by a partner. Their first vehicle, called the "12HP" (12 horsepower), came out of their factory in 1907, equipped with a powerful 4-cylinder engine.
The brand was then exported and developed in the United States, later launching into the production of trucks, among other things. After the death of one of the founders in the 1930s, the company regained momentum with the arrival of a new engineering team but remained under the management of the families of the two original founders.
Lancia gained international recognition partly thanks to its innovations, particularly in electrical systems, which were considered advanced for the early 20th century.
It was also one of the first car manufacturers to equip its vehicles with 5-speed gearboxes, starting in 1948. They were also pioneers in abandoning the V4 engine in favour of experimenting with V8 and V12 engines. During the 1970s and 1980s, the Lancia racing team won numerous Grand Prix races. These victories erased some of the difficult periods with significant financial losses that the company suffered during the 1960s. The brand was eventually purchased by the Italian giant Fiat, and in the 2000s, the century-old company was integrated into the Stellantis group.
For LANCIA brand vehicles, the plate indicating the colour code (VIN plate) can be found in two different locations.
- Under the bonnet.
- In the boot.
You can refer to the images provided below, which illustrate the location.
The colour code is always composed of three characters (letters or numbers).
If in doubt about your code, do not hesitate to contact our color advisers by email or phone. We will confirm whether your code corresponds to a reference present in the Lancia brand database.
You will not be able to find a bodywork colour reference by checking the vehicle registration document. In case of difficulties, it is possible to contact your local dealer to request this information.
Today, all Lancia colour codes have been merged with those of the Fiat database, the Italian manufacturer which bought the brand in 1960.
There are no truly emblematic colours specific to Lancia.
However, we do observe a clear dominance of white shades, followed by the most popular colors among European customers - namely black and metallic greys.
More colorful shades, such as reds or blues, come next, along with the new modern shades, which are composed of pearlescent paint with more or less transparent colour overlays.
Are you planning to paint in your garage or in your garden ?
Tip : if you have a small touch-up job, how can you avoid dust being trapped in the Topcoat? Very simply : Vacuum the room and your clothing, and dampen the floors and walls beforhand to capture the dust.
