How to apply a chrome paint on statues for the interior ?With which paint to chrome an object for the interior ?

There have recently been some extraordinarily powerful yet simple solutions for creating chrome surfaces. In this article, we will explain where and how to use chrome paint ? Among the various existing chrome plating solutions, there are special cases where you can use these easy-to-use products, giving superb results, without any knowledge or experience as a painter. It is very simple. When the conditions of use of the object allow it, a chrome paint type GO chrome can be used.

If the object to be taken, be it a chandelier, a statue, a rut, is not subject to touch, friction, abrasion, then there is no point in using a paint resistant type, nor varnish. When you know this kind of mirror effect paint, you know that the delicate and problematic phase is the varnishing phase, because this is well known for taking with it a good part of the mirror effect, in exchange for the protective effect it confers.

How to use chrome paint on a statue or an interior piece for the interior ?

If the part is not subject to touch (it can of course be handled from time to time and transported) and if the part is not exposed outdoors to climatic conditions, in particular rain and humidity, then the simplest chrome plating solution will give the best results.

The method of use that we recommend, for those who do not have tools or a spray gun, is the aerosol. The results obtained will be far superior to the results obtained with a brush or a roller. Indeed, with a spray, the paint is projected without touching the support and without making a mark.

The results with the aerosol give in a few seconds a bluffing mirror effect. In addition to the simplicity of the instructions for use, the preparation of the support is extremely simple: no primer applied, all types of materials or almost are well accepted, no sanding... The paint hangs directly and the chrome plating appears as if by magic !

The care and maintenance of "Go Chrome" metallization effects

This type of paint is quite slow to dry through. When it comes to suspended or non-manipulable objects, this is therefore not a problem. Thorough drying can take several days and even up to several weeks and it should be noted that the hardness of a general paint increases over time.

An object reworked with such paint can be handled in 24 hours. You can perfectly move it, touch it, clean it and dust it without creating a mark. You should know that after a few weeks the paint becomes extremely hard and can even be cleaned with detergents without the chrome effect leaving.

How to apply a chrome paint on statues for the interior ?Why is this type of mirror effect fragile ?

The mirror effect is obtained by positioning ultra-fine and ultra-flat sequins based on perfectly flat aluminium. This mirror-effect aluminum film is positioned on the surface, because this is the specificity of this floating paint : its thickness does not exceed a few microns, that is to say a few thousandths of a millimetre. It makes sense, then, that this ultra-thin metal plating can be removed with a simple rub of the finger, if you insist.

Varnishing provides effective protection of course, against humidity or touch. This varnishing is not easy and it is a risky technique that can be done mainly with an airbrush or a paint gun fitted with a very fine nozzle. The type of varnish should be glossy. As for its composition, it is not important. It can be a solvent-based varnish.
