Description

Description:

The Chrome Topcoat is a colourless, transparent gloss primer and the only product that guarantees adhesion on chrome*.

It requires no prior surface treatment (such as Derinoxalu) or sanding.

It also performs exceptionally well on other hard-to-adhere surfaces such as polished or bare metals, including stainless steel, galvanised steel, and aluminium, without altering the appearance.

The Chrome Topcoat is completely colourless, invisible, waterproof, chemical-resistant, and UV-resistant.

Destination:

This product provides both adhesion and protection.

It can be used as a finishing clear coat, but is most commonly applied as a colourless adhesion promoter.

(*Note: this refers to ultra-hard galvanised chrome-plated metal surfaces that cannot be abraded. The Chrome Topcoat is not intended for use over chrome-effect paints or silver coatings.)

Use:

Ready-to-use, single-component product — pre-thinned for direct application.

Flammable, solvent-based formula.

Apply to a clean surface, preferably using a spray gun, in one or two thin coats (approx. 10 μm dry film per coat).

Coverage: 10–12 m²/L

Curing: Full adhesion properties are achieved after 48–72 hours of drying.

Temperature resistance: up to 300°C

Tested: 240°C for 40 minutes — no blistering, cracking, or blackening observed.

A thin application is recommended for optimal heat resistance.

Recoating times:

• Wet-on-wet application: within 5 minutes maximum

• Beyond that, recoating can be done at any time after light sanding with an abrasive sponge
