For creating thick epoxy castings.
Glass-like transparent effect.
Non-yellowing.
1.8 kg kit
Contains A: 0.99 L / B 0.66 L (total 1.64 L)
Transparent epoxy resin 2431 STARDUST, for casting and moulding (thickness 3 to 16 cm*).
Colourless and odourless.
Epoxy resin 2431 STARDUSTCOLORS is one of the best casting epoxy resins on the market, thanks to its exceptional fluidity and crystal clarity.
It is particularly suitable for decorative and artistic applications.
Density of WWA / Hardener mixture: 1.06
or 1 L = 1.06 kg
*For a cylindrical or cubic volume (width = height)
In the epoxy resin, dyes, pearlescent agents, or glitter can be added to create beautiful effects of depth and luminosity.

Key Properties among the many and different types of Epoxy resins:
- Totally translucent and colourless appearance without yellowing.
- Unlimited casting thickness (no shrinkage)
- Adjustable hardness or flexibility
- Compatible with all substrates
- No shrinkage (unlike polyester resins)
Epoxy resin allows embedding of objects and provides outstanding hardness once cured.
It is highly fluid, easy to use, and features an anti-bubble effect.
The yellowing effect can be caused by a mixture that reaches too high a temperature and by a casting thickness that is too great.
For thin castings (up to 1 cm thick), we recommend our fast epoxy resin Gloss 2329.
Mass Effect and Safety
⚠️ Safety: Beware of violent reactions (heating, smoke generation, etc.) in case of thick casting!
Refer to the technical data sheet at the bottom of the page for details on thickness and mass effect.
> The maximum casting thickness values are specified for cylindrical shapes (e.g. a cylinder 15 cm deep × 15 cm in diameter).
For river tables, where the width is much larger (e.g. 100 cm), do not exceed 2 cm thickness per pour, and proceed in multiple castings.
Symmetry: When performing multiple pours, maintain equal thickness for each layer (e.g. 2 cm + 2 cm).
Uneven casting (e.g. 3 cm + 1 cm) may cause warping.
> What does the offer include?
The kit includes:
Le kit 1.8Kg (total 1.64L) inclut composant A : 0.99L et composant B 0.66L
(Larger packaging available on request)
> Preparation of the Epoxy Mixture

Mélange en volume : (A) 3 parts / (B) 2 parts ou (A) 100 parts / (B) 66 parts
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The product is supplied ready to use and pre-measured. The mixture must be prepared using a precision digital scale, respecting the proportions by weight indicated in this technical data sheet and on the product label. We recommend starting by weighing component A in a suitable container, then adding the corresponding amount of component B.
After this step, mix vigorously, either using a mechanical stirrer (approximately 1 minute) or manually (approximately 2 minutes), until a perfectly homogeneous mixture is obtained. Then apply to the surface in question according to the specific instructions for each use (see instructions). Keep in mind that the mixture has a limited shelf life (see pot life data).
⚠️ CAUTION: do not change the mixing ratios.
* For maximum hardness, precise mixing is essential. Use our scale.
> Application
Apply with a spatula, brush, or by pouring.
> Performance and Coverage
Composed of 100% solids (no solvents or volatile elements).
Thus, with 1 L = 1 m² at 1 mm thickness (1000 μm dry).
Hardness and Flexibility
To make the resin more flexible, slightly increase the hardener ratio — without exceeding 1:1 by volume.
Drying time
Pot life: approx. 55min (voir fiche technique disponible sur cette page)
Core curing: 48h (mould release) (95% hardness achieved in 24 hours)
Drying time may vary depending on temperature and thickness.
Can the epoxy resin be varnished?
Yes, once fully cured, it can be sanded and coated with varnish or another layer of resin.
How to remove bubbles?
Quickly pass a blowtorch over the freshly poured surface to release trapped air.
How to block the background (porous wood)?
Aquacel or Aquamin water-based varnishes are suitable for blocking backgrounds.
Similarly, 490 HYDRO water-based epoxy impregnation resin is also ideal.
Here you will find all the products you need for resins (pearlescent pigments, dyes, latex and silicones, tools, etc.).
Which resin should I use for a 3 cm pour?
We offer two epoxy resins that can be used for casting:
A thin, glaze resin with a layer thickness of up to 4 cm in one go, resin 2329 GLOSS
A thick one, 2431 casting resin.
For a thickness of 3 cm, you can use either 2431 resin (drying will be very slow) or 2329 GLOSS resin (drying will be very fast).
What colourant or additive should I add to achieve a frosted/matt/dark resin effect?
We do not recommend adding our matting additive to epoxy resin. After pouring and drying, we recommend sanding the entire surface with 400-grit sandpaper to level and perfect it, then applying a matt varnish. It is, of course, possible to apply a gloss varnish.
Varnishing enhances the resin by giving it maximum shine and providing additional protection from UV rays.
To lightly tint the resin and make it darker, you can add a drop of transparent dye or opaque black dye.
How can you make wood shiny and bring out its grain?
Treatments with linseed oil and waxes bring out the grain of the wood and protect it. Similarly, a lightly tinted varnish or wood stain enhances the contrasts of the wood's natural patterns.
How do you calculate the volume of a casting?
There are two ways:
- Calculate the height x length x width in centimetres.
1000 cm³ = 1 litre.
Or
- Pour volumes of rice/lentils into the empty spaces
to determine the approximate volumes.
The volume of liquid resin gives the same volume of resin after drying.
