THE INDISPENSABLE

Industrial paint for machineryWhich industrial paint should you choose to paint your gear ?

Paints used on trucks and machinery are classified as industrial paint. Compared to paints for passenger vehicles, it is a sister branch of products that allow maximum efficiency in terms of resistance, ease of application and minimum cost per square meter.

In industrial painting, these are the most important criteria, far ahead of the quality of the shine, the pearlescent effects or even the subtle color effects that you can look for when you have a car or a motorcycle.

When we talk about efficiency, we pay a lot of attention to the speed of the painting process, i.e. instead of painting a primer, a paint, then a varnish , if we can, we will carry out these three steps in one, with a single-coat paint which provides excellent grip and anti-corrosion power on the metal of the machine and which serves both as colored finishes, in a quality of acceptable gloss.

The difference between the paints of the world of machines and trucks lies above all in the quality and the lifespan.

The different qualities of industrial paint for machinery

With the experience and the many knowledge and discoveries accumulated during the last 100 years, paint manufacturers have developed various resins, such as acrylics, alkyds, polyurethanes, epoxies...
It is clear that the owner of a tractor is not going to invest 100 euros in 1L of paint to paint his agricultural tool. In addition, it will be easy to reapply a coat of paint from time to time, with a spray gun or even with a roller, without necessarily having to go through a paint booth and a professional painter.
There is therefore a series of different qualities among the different types of industrial paint for agricultural machinery, construction machinery, trucks. Basically, we first distinguish between one-component paints and two-component paints, which are also called polyurethanes. Among industrial paints, these are the most resistant: they are acrylic polyurethanes.
Their method of drying or hardening by polymerization of a hardener and a lacquer creates a very high level of resistance to abrasion, but also an excellent protection of often metallic bases and therefore sensitive to oxidation . On the other hand, there are very economical products for painting agricultural machinery and construction machinery, these are synthetic single-coat lacquers, which, in addition to an unbeatable price, have many advantages, such as very fast drying, good resistance and exceptional ease of application.

What can you ask of a painting for an agricultural machine ? Well, logically good resistance to bad weather, such as rain, heat and also good resistance to chemicals and detergents. Of course, the painting must be simple, the painting system must be fast and good resistance to abrasion, to shocks with stones, gravel and dust is required, which continually attacks the machine during its work. agricultural.
No metallic tint or pearl tint for these gears, but simply beautiful, opaque and simple colors like red, orange or glass, which can be easily mixed and produced to make one-component lacquers.

Industrial body paint

There is a very specific and slightly different field of bodywork on private vehicles, it is that of industrial bodywork painting : In this field, we bring into huge paint booths, machinery, trucks, cranes, but also all kinds of engines, pipes or elements for industrial installations.
In this field, the characteristics and properties required of paints are clearly more specific and more demanding compared to the agricultural field. Excellent durability and a very high level of protection against corrosion are required, and in each particular case of field of application, particular properties of resistance are required, all conditioned at acceptable price levels. This is where the usefulness of having a varied range of products from the most expensive to the least expensive, but also with technical characteristics for all areas and all media, comes in.

Tipper paint

Light years away from the exceptional finish of a Bugatti Spartacus, there is truck bed paint, which must be a naturally anti-corrosive paint that adheres well to metal.
These paints must continuously withstand contact with rubble, rocks, earth and mud. It must be clearly very economical but quite robust paints, but one does not preclude the other.
