THE INDISPENSABLE

Industrial bodywork paintingPaints for industrial vehicles

In the same way that private vehicles are painted in factories or at repair shops (bodybuilder garage), there is also an industrial paint for machinery where we talk about buses, trucks and other industrial vehicles in XXL size cabins.

Just like the automotive world, painting is done with painting robots, and repair, touch-up or complete renovation painting is done by painters, that is to say manually with guns. Also in this case there is a difference, because when painting trucks you don't use mini guns, but good big guns that throw paint just right.

Indeed, when you paint a bus or other industrial machine, you get a nice new and correct result, but the primary objective is above all the protection of the metal bodywork and the prevention of corrosion.

We don't do things with finesse, with the simplest, most effective and most economical paint systems possible.

A few words about industrial bodywork paint

It can be several different levels of paint quality: under no circumstances will paint as beautiful and as expensive as in the world of passenger cars be used. There is only one exception, the buses : these are the subject of particular care, at the aesthetic level and they are applied the most beautiful paintings that are.

But in general, we use simple paints, that is to say quick to use and economical and which have an excellent level of resistance. The finishes can be matte, satin or glossy, and the compositions can be single-component (lower resistance) or two-component (these are durable and resistant polyurethane lacquers which harden by polymerization with a hardener).

In the painting of industrial vehicles, we try to simplify the process in order to save time, given the large surfaces to be painted, and to reduce the cost of painting. Nevertheless, it is common for an anti-corrosion primer to be used above all under the paint. Indeed, there are paints which can play both the role of anti-corrosion primer and finish, and in the latter case, this represents the best value for money, and also a significant time saving, than the you can afford with some industrial vehicles.

Industrial body paintingPainting of trucks and lorries

Today, transport trucks have very nice finishes. These are vehicles often intended to drive more than a million kilometres, their use is intense and they must last for many years.
In this case, we use high quality paints, which are very similar to car body paints : these are direct gloss lacquers, whose formula is neither more nor less than acrylic polyurethane, which ensures maximum durability in the face of climatic conditions and abrasion.
You rarely see more sophisticated colors in the world of road transport : for example metallic or pearlescent paints, but you do come across them, and why not ? It is true that an aluminum paint has a relatively low production cost and we could afford it more often.

Colors and prices for truck bodies

This is a subject that is of some interest: the surfaces to be painted for trucks can be very large with quantities of surfaces often greater than 50 or even 70 m². When you want to choose a beautiful quality paint, the first obstacle is the price, especially for an industrial manufacturer : and what plays the major part in the price ? It is not the resin, nor the thinner, but it is often the pigment.
Because indeed, depending on the colors that are obtained thanks to the pigment, the prices go from simple to fivefold: certain pigments such as whites are almost free, while certain colors such as red or pink, have very high prices. high, which can therefore logically multiply the price of the paint.
