Stardust’s new "Hydro" Candy® products are transparent, concentrated inks featuring a water-based, "solvent-free" formula (VOC < 3%).
Water-based Candy inks offer significant advantages over traditional solvent-based Candy concentrates:
► High UV resistance, approaching the maximum rating on the Blue Wool scale (8)
► Non-hazardous, odorless, and eco-friendly products thanks to very low VOC content
► Excellent tinting strength and total transparency
► Easy to disperse and apply; no silicone-related issues
Compatibility
Compatible with all automotive water-based acrylic binders and water-based clearcoats.
Mixing
Flexible dosage, with a recommended ratio of 5%. Certain "intense" colors, such as black, should be dosed at 2%, while others—like CCH-P Purple or CCH-R2 Red2—require 8%.

Comparisons: There are similarities between traditional solvent-based Candy inks and the new water-based Candy inks. The colors are similar, but not identical.

Instructions for use:
Concentrated Candy Hydro inks are concentrated additives and cannot be used as-is. They must be added to a clear base so that the mixture can be applied over a reflective metallic paint layer.
You can choose to mix them into an automotive binder requiring a clearcoat or into a gloss clearcoat, which can subsequently be top-coated with a traditional automotive clearcoat (or left as is).
We offer gloss Candy clearcoats, water-based metallic paints, and even opaque colored graphic bases (such as black), creating a complete solvent-free Candy painting system.
Storage:
Store in a cool place with the cap tightly closed. Avoid heat and product drying out.
