OPAL paint kit for bikes - STARDUST BIKE

The Opalescent effect is a unique creation of Stardust and a major innovation in terms of special effects in the world of paints.

The Opal effect is a pearly effect of white color, creating variable colored reflections depending on the viewing angle. The Opal effect is particularly reminiscent of the mother-of-pearl forming the inside of shells.

This multi-colored interferential pearlescent effect is particularly well suited for painting a bike frame because the tubular shapes of the fork, frame and even the rims allow the multi-colored reflections to vary.

• The white background consists of a white primer, which is used to erase slight surface defects

• OPAL paint is a colorless liquid that dries very quickly

• The varnish is a high-performance glossy and resistant bodywork product

OPAL BIKE KIT - CANNED PAINTS

use a paint gun, nozzle 1 mm to 1.5 mm

solvent-based paints.

Details of the complete kit contents

750 ml of white P410 primer: white surfacer filler primer kit (primer + hardener + thinner)

250 ml of Opal paint

800 ml bodywork varnish UHS 830 : varnish kit, hardener, thinner

Mixing and application instructions*

Mix 4 parts primer + 1 part hardener + 1 part thinner

Apply 2 coats, let dry 6 hours and sand with P500 with water

Product ready to use. Stir well.

Apply very thin coats, until the can is empty, at 2 minute intervals

Follow directly with the varnish*.

Mix 3 parts varnish + 1 part hardener + 10% thinner

Use the mixture in 30 min

Apply 2 glossy coats at 7-10min intervals depending on temperature

Through drying 24h

Details of the complete kit contents

2 two-component spray cans** of white primer

2 Opal spray paint cans

2 two-component spray cans** of varnish

Application instructions

Remove the safety cap from the can, shake well and use within 60 minutes

Apply 2 coats, let dry 6 hours and sand with P500 with water

Apply very thin coats, until the spray cans are exhausted, at 2 minute intervals

Follow directly with the varnish*.

Remove the safety cap from the can, shake well and use within 30 minutes

Varnish 2 glossy coats at 7-10min intervals depending on the temperature

Through drying 24h

* If you don't want to varnish immediately, then sand with our grey abrasive sponge after drying, before working, and before varnishing, without time constraint.

** a bi-component spray can contains a hardener that is triggered with a button. It is therefore a superior quality product in terms of resistance, but for single use only.

The different types of OPAL paints :

The reflections vary with cool or warm tones; one reference can show 2 to 4 colors of reflections.

The pearls are extremely fine for the OPAL series, and of medium size for the high intensity OPAL QUASAR range.

Their appearance is invisible without direct light.

Additional information :

It is possible to change the background color, keeping of course very light tones, like gray, light blue, yellow.... The color effects will always be surprising and unique!
