Product available – Delivery: within 48 hours
Paint for plastic
The Plastic Primer is a ready-to-use, single-component transparent product.
It is recommended for all PE (Polyethylene), PP (Polypropylene), and ABS substrates — and for all plastics in general.
Our Plastic Primer works effectively on most plastics without surface preparation or sanding (with some exceptions such as PE or HDPE).
Before starting, make sure the surface is raw plastic, not a previously painted plastic.
In the latter case, no primer is needed — simple sanding will suffice.
Version P230 - Direct Adhesion PP-PE
The Direct Adhesion Primer for Polypropylene and Polyethylene is the first product capable of ensuring a high level of adhesion on these challenging plastics, even without prior surface treatment (sanding, flame treatment, etc.).
The product should be applied in one or two very thin coats and must be covered with paint within five minutes maximum.
Adhesion strength increases progressively from the time of application, reaching its maximum after seven days.
The PP–PE Direct Primer also works effectively on most other plastics.
* Our P230 Plastic Adhesion Primer adheres to PP without sanding or preparation.
For PE or HDPE, light sanding with an abrasive sponge and solvent is required.
Coverage :
10 m²/L per coat
Aerosol: 1–1.5 m² per coat
Application mode:
Treat the plastic surface with a gas flame to activate surface oils.
“Sand” the plastic using an abrasive sponge soaked in thinner (solvent based, e.g. white spirit or acetone). Do not use sandpaper.
Clean and degrease the surface thoroughly.
Apply two to three very thin coats of Plastic Primer.
Note:
The higher the temperature during application, the better the adhesion.
Within 5 minutes, apply a very thin coat of paint to create the adhesion layer.
Wait another 5 minutes before continuing with normal painting.
