Stardust, is a French company that manufactures or distributes all types of bodywork paints and in particular paints in original colors, prepared on request, for touch-ups and repairs corresponding to car or motorcycle color codes.

The preparation of these colors is a precision work, carried out by a colorist, who will make mixtures to the nearest hundredth of a gram, using a hundred pigment concentrates, contained in his computer colorimetry system. The recipes cover all of the thousands of references from 1950 to the present day.

The paint is prepared in an acrylic water-based version or in a solvent-based version, then it is delivered, either as a spray or in a box, for a product to be applied by spray gun. There are two types of product :

The colorist prepares the paint using a car / motorcycle color code, or a color name, from the vehicle manufacturer (specific paint brand references are not allowed !), information without which it is difficult to search through a directory comprising several hundred color codes per brand.
