New patented professional formulas R2S and R5 – high performance

The kits include all the necessary products, from the basecoat to the topcoat (distilled water* not included).

Kit allows chrome plating for about 25m².

The two formulas are different and adapt to various configurations:

The R2S formula is a quick formula. Mainly used in rooms up to 0.5–0.8m² or in cold conditions. Its reducer contains formaldehyde (reserved for professionals).

The R5 formula is a slow formula. Used for larger parts because the product reacts slower, or when the temperature is high. Not recommended under 20°C. It does not contain formaldehyde.

The mixture is by volume and very simple. We offer on our site laboratory consumables (1000 ml plastic graduated cups, beakers, 100 ml test tubes, and 3 ml pipettes).

What are the differences between the various silver plating formulas we offer (namely DUO+LITHIUM and the R2S - R5 kits)?

R2S and R5 are formulas from JETMETAL (patented in 45 countries)

DUO+ and the new formula from our company, Stardust

R2S is a fast formula designed for small parts with excellent reactivity (for professional use only).

R5 is a versatile formula for small or large parts and must be used at a minimum temperature of 20°C (for general use).

DUO+ is a versatile formula for small and large parts with excellent reactivity (for professional use only). It is more economical.

FAST VERSION R2S (reserved for professionals)

With formaldehyde: suitable for small and medium parts. Suitable for cold weather.

Includes:

   • BASE – Clearcoat ST8900X + Hardener 10 L

   • 0.5L Wetting Agent

   • Activator 1970 250 ml

   • Silver (A) CD2920 500 ml, OX1910 250 ml, CD1900 250 ml (R2S formula)

   • Reducer (B) RED2910 750 ml (R2S formula)

   • Anti-UV 50 g

   • Optical Brightener Tint 60 ml

SLOW VERSION R5

Formaldehyde-free: suitable for small, medium and large parts. Not suitable below 20°C.

Includes:

   • BASE – Clearcoat ST8900X + Hardener 10 L

   • 0.5L Wetting Agent

   • Activator 1970 250 ml

   • Silver (A) CD2920 500 ml, OX1910 250 ml (R5 formula)

   • Reducer (B) CD1900 250 ml, RED5910 250 ml

   • Anti-UV 50 g

   • Optical Brightener Tint 60 ml

Storage:

6 months in a cool place, protected from light, in original containers.

A reliable and high-performance ceramic varnish for both base and finish.

The ST8900X base is the best undercoat for chrome plating, selected from all existing products on the market.

This varnish provides ultra-fast curing without baking, achieving high shine and hardness, making silver plating possible just a few hours after drying at room temperature.

Drying time at 20°C:

Thorough drying: 45 min

Before silver plating: 4 h

> Use an anti-UV absorber clearcoat or incorporate an anti-UV additive for parts exposed outdoors.

> Use nano-ceramic protection (powerful anti-UV screen)

Candy Inks:
Coloured chromes (gold or blue chrome) can be created by using our candy inks, thinned in any type of clearcoat.

*It is essential to use ultra-pure distilled water, both for mixing concentrates and for cleaning spray guns, to avoid any contamination.
