Kit Cel-Chrome TopCoat

The CELCHROME clearcoat is the only clearcoat recommended for chrome plating clearcoating.

The unique composition of CELCHROME allows it to:
- Adhere directly to silver, preventing peeling and ensuring a resistant and durable finish — a guarantee of quality for the end customer.

APPEARANCE: Clearcoat with optical brightener

PROPERTIES: Provides antioxidant protection for silver and ensures direct adhesion on ferrous or non-ferrous metals without the need to use primers.

Theoretical coverage: 12 m² / 1 kg at 25 microns dry film thickness

Substrate preparation: The silver metallisation layer must be perfectly clean and dry (1 h to 24 h).

Product preparation: (dosing by weight)
100 parts CELCHROME + 15 parts HARDENER H410 + 30–40 parts PU THINNER

Service life of the mixture at 20 °C: 24 h

Conditions of application in a workshop: 15-25 °C

Application method and settings: Pneumatic spray gun. Avoid — especially during summer — applying excessively thick coats with too short an interval between passes (risk of bubbling).

Application: Apply 2–3 thin passes, leaving 30 seconds between each, then add 1 or 2 glossy coats.

Drying: ambient air at 20 °C - Touch-dry: 30 min

Recoating: after 6-8 hours and within 24 hours.

Forced-air oven: 10 min. Allow 10 min solvent evaporation at ambient temperature, then bake at 60 °C for 30 min.

It is strongly recommended to overcoat with a scratch-resistant 2K clearcoat to provide good mechanical resistance against abrasion.
