Application :
It is not always necessary to apply a primer. Often a simple light sanding of the old paint is sufficient (800 grit paper), to allow adhesion.
Dry well, degrease with our degreaser, (to avoid reactions due to invisible contaminants) then pick up the dust with our wiping pad. Under no circumstances should the existing paint be stripped.

Caution ! For some transparent pearlescent factory colours, it is necessary to apply a special coloured primer: some of these colours have little coverage or transparency.
For peace of mind and to ensure even and quicker coverage, use our Stardust Primer (available in different shades of grey). For damaged or puttyed backgrounds, apply our filler primer.

Important :
Some three-coat colours require an additional specific undercoat, if your colour code requires this additional undercoat our technician will contact you to propose the first coat colour
Mixing :
The paint in the kits is delivered pure. To give it the necessary viscosity,
Add 70% V1 thinner
Application :
Solvent-based 1K basecoat are particularly easy to apply : they can be applied with all types of spray guns, using thin coats (about 1.3 mm)
The thinner they are, the faster they dry, and the shorter the time between coats : at 20°C, the coats are applied in a row, while at cold temperatures you wait 5 minutes.

Professional application method recommended :
One very thin coat (to see any defects)
one (or two) coat(s) with an interval of 5 min
For pearlescent/metallic: finish with half a coat with less pressure and with a little more distance to the substrate;

Topcoat :
Varnish after 15 min, with any of our clearcoats (See category Car Topcoats)
Do not wait to varnish, because after 30 min, the adhesion is no longer possible in theory.

Car polish is available in aerosol clearcoat.
It is also available for those who use a paint gun, in a 875ml mini kit, or in a 1.5L kit of 830 UHS car clearcoat.

Coverage : 6-7m²/L in 2 coats
For aerosol sprays, the coverage is 1 aerosol spay = 0.6 m² max
