What is the OPAL effect ?

This paint appears as a semi-transparent, colourless liquid. It creates subtle, shimmering coloured reflections. The hues shift, and it's possible to discern between 2 to 3 colours depending on the light and angle of viewing.

White Primer : 750 ml kit of white filler primer (covers 3-4 m² for two coats). Includes 500ml of primer, 125ml of hardener, and 125ml of thinner.

OPAL Paint : 1 Litre of pre-diluted opalescent paint, ready to use. Type 1K solvent-based paint*.

Motorcycle Clearcoat : 825 ml of 2K glossy clearcoat. Includes 500ml UHS-830 clearcoat + 175ml 432 hardener + 150ml V1 thinner. UHS type with high gloss and long durability.

OPAL Effect : A Summary in 4 Steps

Step 1 ► Surface Preparation : Sanding with P320 abrasive.

Step 2 ► Application of the white primer in 2 coats, 5 minutes apart.

(Mixing ratio : 4 parts primer + 1 part hardener + 1 part thinner)

Shelf life of the mix : 1 hour

Use a 1.4mm nozzle gun – 2.5-3 bars

Drying time : 2-4 hours at 20°C

Sanding with P500 abrasive.

We recommend extensive wet sanding until achieving a perfectly smooth surface. Adhering to the specified grain size during sanding is crucial.

Step 3 ► Application of opalescent paint. Stir well before use. Paint is ready to use.

Apply 3 or 4 thin coats, 2-5 minutes apart.

Use a 1.3mm nozzle gun – 3 bars

Drying time: 15 minutes at 20°C

Avoid sanding : We advise applying the clearcoat directly after painting, specifically after 15 minutes but within 30 minutes.

Step 4 ► Clearcoat mixing. 3 parts clearcoat + 1 part hardener. Dilution: 10%

Shelf life of the mix: 30 minutes

Apply 2 glossy coats, 10 minutes apart.

Use a 1.4mm nozzle gun – 2.5-3 bars

Drying at 20°C : Touch dry in 2 hours / Fully dry and ready for use in 24 hours.
