The Candy technique uses translucent inks to create luminous and deep colour effects.

Application Method
Use a spray gun with a 1.0–1.4 mm nozzle
1 - Apply the black basecoat. One-component, ready-to-use pre-diluted paint. Apply a few thin coats, leaving two minutes’ drying interval between each. Within 10 to 30 minutes maximum, follow with step 2.
2 - Apply the metallic or pearlescent paint in a few very thin coats until the black or white background is covered. One-component, ready-to-use pre-diluted paint. A drying interval of one to two minutes is sufficient between each coat. Within 10 to 30 minutes maximum, follow with step 3.
3 - Prepare the Candy clearcoat: 100 parts clearcoat + 33 parts hardener (volume or weight) + 5 to 10 parts thinner. Apply the Candy clearcoat in two to three coats, respecting a drying time of 7 to 10 minutes between each. If more coats are required, apply them the next day after complete drying and sanding with P500 and water.
Tips for painting motorcycle fairings:
It is not necessary to apply a primer when painting motorcycle parts: each plastic or steel fairing has already been factory-painted. The substrate is not plastic or steel, but an existing paint/topcoat. Therefore, no primer is required to create adhesion on the surface. A simple light sanding with P800 or P1200 and water is enough.
If the surface is very damaged, or if stickers remain under the clearcoat, our filler can be applied in a few layers to achieve a perfectly level surface after sanding.
If the "1K basecoat" version is chosen, the clearcoat is not included in the offer and must be purchased separately.
