► TUTORIAL HOW TO PAINT A MOTORCYCLE
3 steps for achieving a motorcycle Marblizer paint effect :
The Marblizer effect is a special paint system made in 3 distinct coats :
- Black base
- Marblizer
- Candy clearcoat
This creates an impressive visual appearance on the painted motorcycle fairings, combining texture and depth, while the final finish remains perfectly smooth and glossy.
The colour :
The Marblizer effect is applied over a black background and produces a silvery-grey appearance.
It is the Candy clearcoat (last step) that provides the final colour and gloss.
The colour can be freely chosen among the twenty or so Candy shades offered (see PDF colour chart at the bottom of the page) or by following the link to view all the available Candy clearcoats.
Choice :
Once the colour is chosen and the order placed, the Candy colour reference must be specified by email.

How to use – 5 steps to a successful Marblizer motorcycle paint job :
1 - Sanding
Sand the painted surfaces of the body and fairings with a 500-grit abrasive and water. This is not stripping, but a light sanding to promote adhesion. Dry, clean, and degrease thoroughly.
2 – Mix the black 2K paint
In can: Mix by weight or volume: 100 parts 2K paint + 50 parts hardener, then dilute with 10% thinner. Pot life: 30 min.
In spray can: Press the red button, then shake vigorously.
Apply one or two coats and allow to dry for 24 h.
3 – Sanding
Lightly sand with P500 abrasive, then dry and clean.
4 – Apply Marblizer
Apply a medium coat of Marblizer and immediately lay a cellophane-type plastic film for a few seconds on top of the wet coat. Remove the film and, if necessary, reapply to create overlapping patterns or lift off excess product.
> Work zone by zone (maximum 50 cm at a time)
> The film must only touch the wet surface and must not be pressed.
Try to cover the entire black background with the Marblizer within 30 minutes, if possible, to ensure good adhesion for the clearcoat and avoid weak bonding.
5 – mix the Candy clearcoat
In can: Mix by weight or volume: 100 parts Candy clearcoat + 33 parts hardener H412, then dilute with 10% thinner. Pot life: 30 min.
In spray can: Press the red button, then shake vigorously.
Apply 2 to 4 coats depending on the desired colour intensity. Allow to dry for 24 h.
Questions and answers
Q :
How to achieve a deep, dark tone ?
A :
Apply less Marblizer to keep more of the black background visible.
Apply more coats of Candy clearcoat to darken the shade.
Q :
What type of black background can be used ?
A :
A black clearcoat, a black primer, or a black 2K paint.
Avoid 1K basecoats, as they soften and melt when the cellophane film is handled on their surface.
Q :
Is a Marblizer Candy finish resistant to sunlight ?
A :
Yes. Although not as durable as classic opaque colours, Stardust Candy finishes are quite UV-resistant and can last several years depending on exposure.
Q :
Can we overcoat with another clearcoat ?
A :
Yes, after 24 h of drying followed by water sanding with P500 or P800.
This allows additional gloss, depth, and protection.
