Opaque colors of GRAPHIC airbrush paintsThe colors to apply with an airbrush on bodywork

In the field of airbrushes, there are very few offers in solvent-based versions. In fact, we cannot only rely on the market for water-based paints. It is clear that Graphic airbrush paints offer a number of undeniable advantages over their water based acrylic competitors.
The GRAPHIC airbrush paint range is certainly the best known in the world for solvent-based paints with that of the ALCLAD® brand.
Given the success of its colors, the GRAPHIC family was extended in 2022 with the addition of around thirty additional shades.
Thanks to the experience of years and the feedback and comments of the actors, the colors have been significantly improved. We always keep the same format and the same unit for these ready-to-use paints. It is at the level of the color coverage power that a real effort has been made. Of course, it is not possible to achieve all the colors of the world in an opaque version, but this is nevertheless what the painter wishes with his airbrush.
A great deal of work has therefore been done to create colors which do not involve transparent or semi-transparent pigments. The old range includes natural and artistic colors, which are all different and whose properties can be more or less opaque and transparent. It is true that it is always restrictive to have to use certain light colored backgrounds for unusual colors.
The new colors in the GRAPHIC range mainly include opaque shades.

The color chart is therefore considerably expanded with around sixty colors now available to users.
The qualities of the paints are always there with extraordinary finesse, unparalleled fluidity and grip. on many substrates.
Originally, these paints were intended for bodywork. However, they are suitable in many fields such as fashion with the painting of leather and shoes, but also sculpture or furniture, or the decoration of any primed object.
Compared to airbrush paints water-based, drying is 2 to 3 times faster and the thickness of the final layer is half as thick. This avoids hassles with the formation of unsightly layers and thicknesses, especially when doing multi-layer paints.

GRAPHIC solvent-based airbrush paints dry quickly and are easy to sand. Have you ever tried sanding water-based paints? Well, it's very laborious, because you have to wait a long time for drying and you have to sand very gently.

The color fastness to UVs is exceptional. Coming from the automotive world, the pigments used in the manufacture of GRAPHIC airbrush paints are the most resistant that it is possible to find. That is to say that once the object is painted, it can be exhibited outdoors for 20 years without fear of a noticeable deterioration in the colors.

There is no real expiry date for these paints. Nor is it possible to say with any certainty whether this painting can be kept for six months, one year or two years. In truth, it all depends on the amount of air, that is, the volume of air present in the bottle.
Air and heat act to coagulate the paint.
It is very important to keep the cap closed to prevent solvent evaporation. A GRAPHIC painting can be kept for years with a very high level of quality. It is possible to add a little thinner each year to maintain its fluidity.

Cleaning solvent-based airbrush paints

Of course, you can't use water or water-based thinner for water-based airbrush paints.
So what cleaning thinner can you use?
It thinners are available for thinning paints and this is very suitable for cleaning, i.e. rinsing and purging airbrushes.
Commercially available, i.e. in any supermarket at DIY store, you can get White Spirit or acetone (The first is too greasy and the second dries too quickly. In addition, it can damage the components of your airbrush). But these are not exactly suitable solvents and we recommend using thinning and body cleaning solvents.
