The Diamond finish is quite easy to obtain, in a three-stages process, successively. The background paint, black or white (pre-thinned) is applied first, immediately followed by the Diamond coat (thinning at 75% necessary). Spray the Diamond paint in consecutive and very thin passes until the desired shade. The clearcoat is the third stage, to be applied within the next 30 minutes
Diamond paints are different from the usual standard "car paints". They contain "Candy" inks and are more liquid.
It is very important to apply them in finer passes, to avoid the risk of sagging, and to prevent "marbling" effect, and in order for the "diamond" pearls contained in the paints to be correctly positioned, "laying flat".
A significant thinning (from 70 to 100%) allows for finer coats, and a better applied paint.
