MILITARY GHOST effect car paint kit – 16 colour combinations

The Military Ghost effect car paint is an exclusive Stardust formula, available as a three-coat paint system*

♦a military camouflage base coat in your choice of 6003 / 6014 / 7043 / 7046

♦a pearlescent clear intermediate coat with a choice of sheen:

BC92 GREEN / BC93 ORANGE / BC94 RED / BC98 BLUE

♦a ST822 matt topcoat (gloss level 4°)

The colour combination must be selected from the drop-down menu 

The resulting finish offers an original matt effect, in which the pearlescent effect remains subtle thanks to the matt clear coat. The paint features a dual-tone effect with a coloured sheen that appears on the car depending on the direction of the light and the viewing angle, over the base colour.

Contents of the offer

All products are supplied in sufficient quantities to paint an entire car.

3 litres of ready-to-use solvent-based matt paint (military RAL camouflage colour)

3 litres of ready-to-use solvent-based matt GHOST pearlescent interference paint

2 matt clear coat kits:  ST822  2L + 400 ml hardener + 300 ml thinner

A filling primer is not included in the complete kit. A filling primer may be necessary if the surface is in poor condition, with scratches or repairs

instructions for mixing and preparing the products

► the base paints and Ghost paints are already thinned and single-component (1C): simply mix the product thoroughly before use

► the matt clear coat is an acrylic polyurethane to be mixed with its hardener, by weight:

5 parts varnish + 1 part hardener + 1 part thinner

(example: 1000 g varnish + 200 g hardener + 200 g thinner)

Pot life (working time): two hours

Application instructions

The substrate (car bodywork) must be properly prepared in accordance with the following guidelines: clean, dry, degreased, dust-free and sanded with P500 grit sandpaper and/or primed where necessary

Work at temperatures between 15 and 25°C for optimal results

♦ Step 1 – apply two to three thin coats of RAL MILITAIRE base paint, allowing five minutes between each coat. Then proceed directly to step 2, applying wet-on-wet within 30 minutes at 20°C. After this time, sanding with P500 grit will be necessary to restore adhesion.

♦ Step 2 – apply three thin coats of GHOST pearlescent interference paint, allowing five minutes between each coat. Then proceed directly to step 3 (clear coat) wet-on-wet within 30 minutes at 20°C. After this time, lightly sand with a fine grey abrasive sponge (link) to restore adhesion.

♦ Step 3 – apply the matt varnish in two medium coats, 10 to 15 minutes apart.

Drying: allow to dry for 24 hours before use.
