*For the varnish, you can request a replacement with our semi-gloss (ST819) or satin (ST820) varnishes
Metallic paint is applied over a black or white base coat (the correct base colour is automatically included in the kit by the order processors), in very thin, repeated layers until the maximum colour intensity and full coverage are achieved.
The gloss clear coat included in the complete metallic car paint kit is 830 UHS. This is a high-quality clear coat with a very high solids content, ensuring superior thickness and gloss, as well as extended durability.
The mixture is prepared by weight or by volume, using 3 parts clear coat to 1 part hardener, with a dilution of around 10%.
Gun settings: nozzle 1.3–1.4 Pressure 2.5–3 bar.
Overlapping and sequence of steps:
We recommend applying the various coats (black base coat – metallic paint – clear coat) wet-on-wet, which reduces working time and ensures good adhesion between the coats without the need for sanding. This requires the next coat to be applied between 10 and a maximum of 30 minutes after the previous coat (at 20°C – the maximum recoating time may vary depending on the temperature)
