NISO lacquer is a two-component, solvent-based, isocyanate-free polyurethane marine lacquer, formulated to deliver high performance in marine environments

Mixing system

• Mixing ratio: 2:1 by weight 
• Hardener: H507
• Pot life: 12–24 hours at 20°C 

Drying times for coloured marine lacquer 

• Dust-free: 25 minutes 
• Touch-dry: 1 hour 
• Handleable: 2 hours 30 minutes 
• Fully cured: 7 days 

Surface preparation

• Existing paintwork: sand with 280–400 grit sandpaper
• Metals: degrease + epoxy or PU primer
• Plastics: flame-etch or apply a bonding primer
• Polyester: priming recommended on porous gelcoat

Application

• Roller/brush: ready to use 
• Spray gun: dilution 10–25% (viscosity 20–30 sec CF4) 
• Airless: not recommended 

Performance

• Adhesion: 0 (cross-hatch test) 
• Impact resistance: 1 kg at 1 m without cracking 
• Salt spray: 500 h 
• Humidity chamber: 350 h 
• Chemical resistance: MEK 168 h
