Special effect paints

Stardust has revolutionized car paint and motorcycle paint with an impressive collection of special effect paints. In contrast to "inert" classic paints, special effect paints seem much more “lively”: they are coatings that change, react or produce a visual effect.

They contain very special and rare ingredients which determine their properties. These are technological and highly innovative products with many possible applications.

Special effect paints

These paints come at a certain cost and are gradually gaining in popularity. Before StardustColors, a pioneer in this field, was founded, these products were known only to a few users and came mainly from the United States. Nowadays, thanks to their democratisation, we can see them on luxurious concept cars, as well as on private cars and motorcycles.

Special effect paints are primarily focused on aesthetics: their beauty is eye-catching and stands out from the mass of classic and monotonous paints. They are always surprising - we can say that they truly have a special effect!

Candy paint

Candy paint deserves its own separate special effect paint family. It is a multi-layer technique that creates deep and bright shades by superimposing metallic and reflective colours, with translucent and shimmering shades.

Texture effect paint

Other coatings create surface effects: these are the texture special effects for car paint and motorcycle paint, quite real, as with rust effect paint. They can also produce optical effects, such as depth effects, marbling effects or crystallised effects.

Colour changing effect paint

Some of the most famous special effect paints are those that can change colour depending on one's viewpoint : colour-changing effect paints do not react to light or external factors; due to their optical properties, they display different colours depending on the observer's angle. They are known as dichroic paints, opalescent, chameleons, holographic and even "black interference” paints, with a chromatic system ranging from black to colour

Reaction effect paint

Reaction effect paints seem lively and are therefore very surprising: they are able to modify their appearance by reacting to changes in external conditions, such as brightness or temperature.

Photoluminescent effects paints

This group of photoluminescent effects paints include several types. A photoluminescent paint reacts to light, causing a fast or slow release of energy, which manifests itself as luminous fluorescence. The different types include visible and invisible fluorescent effects, reacting to UV or infrared rays, and the phosphorescent effect.
