250ml Phosphorescent paint NIGHT-GLOW

To paint in phosphorescent a car, a motorcycle, an object, so that it glows at night 

It's possible thanks to our NightGlow paint, which is an extraordinary product, able to store any luminous energy and to become luminescent and coloured at night.

The Nightglow serie, it's 8 phosphorescent colours by night, of colourless aspect during the day.

NightGlow are solvent-based automotive base coats. A water-based version exists.

They are applied with a spray gun in a maximum number of layers, in order to obtain a film of maximum thickness : The greater the thickness, the more the paint will be able to store light and shine for a long time.

How long does a phosphorescent paint glow ?

 Intense colours such as green and turquoise can glow all night long. It is not the case of the other colours, that have lower intensity power. To give you a comprehensive answer, we have put at your disposal a measurements chart of phosphorescent colours (see the pdf).

Other parameters have to be taken into account to understand the photoluminescence power and duration:

The background colour (this latter must be white for an optimal efficacy), the number of coats, the charge and the type of light, the temperature (the hotter it is, the more the paint glows)

TYPE OF PAINT : Mono-component solvent-based paint for automotive.

Coverage : 2sqm / L for 4 to 5 passes

Voc : 650g/L

Application method :

In all cases apply over a white (recommended) or light coloured background. The background can be an old paint or a sanded topcoat, a metal or wood primer (see our section Primers) or simply a white paint (use our automotive basecoats to clear) 

Black or white bases are available here in pot or in spray

Stardustcolors offers a wide range of clearcoats in aerosols or complete kits.

Spray gun (3 - 4 bars ~Nozzle 1.2 - 1.5mm),  4 coats minimum, while respecting enough drying time between each pass, in order to avoid any drip. Topcoating is necesssary, quickly after, as for any 2K paint.  

Why choose a matte base coat instead of a phosphorescent clearcoat ? Because matte bases are thinner and dry faster, they facilitate the application of a higher number of layers

Life expectancy of the photoluminescent effect : up to 25 years.

Special effect paint, compliant with Directive 2004/42/EC Annex II B (Maximum VOC contents for vehicle refinishing products and in particular special finishes of all types with a maximum VOC content of 840g / Litre)
