Among the car paints for car parts, one may wish to repair a damaged underbody or paint the body of a 4x4, for example.
For this type of job, standard car paints are not suitable.
We offer car paint solutions for underbodies (primers, paints and topcoats) that can withstand harsh conditions without degrading after just a few months.
How to repair rusty underbody car paint ?
The affected areas may be made of metal, plastic or painted surfaces.
It is important to understand that to achieve durable paintwork, proper adhesion is essential!
If the substrate is metal, the area must be deoxidised in case of rust (by rubbing, sanding, stripping), then a rust converter must be applied, followed by an aluminium filler and a primer.
If the substrate is plastic — meaning bare plastic, not previously painted — you may want to refresh its appearance with a matt or gloss topcoat (technique explained further below).
Characteristics of underbody paint or pick-up bodywork paint
These body areas are closest to the ground and are exposed to constant rubbing and stone chips.
The paint or topcoat applied here must be particularly resistant.
The metallic components of the car’s underbody are also in constant contact with abrasive and oxidising elements such as water, mud, salt, etc.
As for paints for 4x4 or pick-up bodyworks, they must be very adherent, thick and durable.
Although the aesthetic function is not essential, we will see below how these paints can also be customised with colours or effects.

Renovating the car's underbody using the manufacturer's tint
If the side underbody area is a continuation of the visible bodywork, then to order paint, simply find the manufacturer’s colour code, specific to the vehicle brand.
We will prepare the correct tint for you in a can or as sprayable paint.
The typical steps are:
– Preparation (with or without primer)
– Application of paint
– Application of topcoat (any type) with an additive to improve flexibility, and make it less sensitive to impacts, scratches and cracking.
How to restore the plastic underbody of a car ?
You can remove dullness and restore the shine and finish of the plastic underbody using a satin, matt or gloss topcoat.
Please note: most of these underbody plastics are made of PP (polypropylene) or PE (polyethylene).
These materials are not easy to paint due to their poor natural adhesion.
By rubbing the surface with our abrasive sponges and a bit of thinner, you can then apply a clear plastic primer, followed by paint to give the part a new lease of life!
How to customize your 4x4 or pick-up truck paint ?
Raptor is an easy-to-apply and highly effective product.
It is a very thick two-component coating applied using a blaxon gun.
It applies in thick layers, does not run, adheres well, masks imperfections, and creates an ultra-thick and durable protective film.
