It is of course necessary to know the color codes of Italian motorcycles ; among other things, the color code of your Moto Guzzi. Without a paint reference we will not be able to find your formula.
The paint we offer are solvent-based matt bases. These are professional quality, single-component type paints. We offer them in all possible packaging, that is to say in a jar for application by spray gun or in a 400 ml aerosol.
We supply Guzzi paint in an already diluted version for 250 ml or 500 ml pots. Our offers also include the supply of pure paint accompanied by its thinner for the 1 liter and 2 liter kit.
Depending on the quantity of fairing, it takes about 500 ml or 1 liter to paint a complete motorcycle. For the renovation of one room only, 250 ml may be sufficient. Consumption with a 400 ml aerosol is different. You should know that a classic aerosol contains 300 ml of gas with only 100 ml of product inside.
It is important to always provide a bodywork clearcoat, in addition to the paint. Single-component “base to varnish” paints are not resistant without being varnished. It is imperative to apply a varnish directly after their application. Of course, we always choose a 2-component clearcoat, that is to say a varnish with a hardener. We offer a large selection of clearcoats for the motorcycle, including very covering and filling clearcoats, glossy or matte varnishes, and also a ceramic clearcoat.
There are dozens or hundreds of color references for this Italian manufacturer. Sometimes creating a color requires a different color, with an undercoat, then a paint. With the final clearcoat, this can therefore represent 3 coats.
For classic painting, it is often necessary to have a primer. The usefulness for painting is above all the formation of a smooth and regular background, which will make it possible to hang, but also the formation of a regular background color : if we work with more or less transparent paints on a multicolored (with logos, stripes, traces of putty and primer), then the final color is very likely to be uneven.

In general, no adhesion primer is necessary, since it is necessary to paint directly on the old base. We totally advise against stripping your parts before painting. We advise you to keep the primer coat that covers your fairing. An adhesion primer is applied only if the metal, the plastic is bare.
We advise you to apply a filling primer to perfect the surface and to cover all micro scratches and imperfections. Before painting the Guzzi paint, it must be sanded with 500 grit paper.
Applying your Guzzi color code is very easy: just apply very thin layers, from left to right, and continue until you completely cover the background. This can represent 4 to 5 very fine passes.
