MALAGUTI motorcycle paint

If you own a Malaguti motorcycle, scooter or bicycle and you plan to do some small paint jobs, then you can order the color codes for Italian motorcycles from this manufacturer on our website. We provide all the packaging possible, whether you need to do a little touch-up or a complete painting. We offer Malaguti paint in a 400 ml aerosol version and also in jars (from 0.25L to 2L).

The Malaguti brand motorcycle color codes

Depending on the model year of your motorcycle, the type of color changes : there were indeed significant changes in the manufacture of paints between the 1900s and the 2000s. We are talking here specifically about the incorporation mother-of-pearl and metal systematically in paintings after approximately 2000.

In concrete terms, this means that the old paints were simpler paints, solid and opaque shades, which could be made in glossy lacquer (2C). From now on, all the colors are offered only in one-component paint (1). These paints therefore require varnishing with bodywork clearcoat (2C).

Only a two-component varnish can allow resistance to abrasion, bad weather and above all to hydrocarbons, in a totally guaranteed way.

For this reason, we do not recommend that you buy your Malaguti paint in a mainstream store and the same for your clearcoat. On our site, you will only find professional products, of very high quality, which will guarantee you a long life for your finish.

Your Malaguti color code may also require a primer. In the absence of specific recommendations, a medium gray primer should be taken. You may need a special color and it depends on the Malaguti shades. Don't worry, our paint preparators take care of everything and will contact you, in the case of a specific color for the undercoat.

The history of the Malaguti manufacturer

Founded in Italy in 1930, Malaguti is an Italian manufacturer of bicycles, scooters and motorcycles. It was created by Antonio Malaguti.

Antonio was only 22 years old at the time and was a cycling enthusiast who notably practiced cycling at a high level. Originally, it was a bicycle repair and maintenance workshop.

Antonio Malaguti's small business did not know the crisis and developed remarkably well, until the unfortunate period of the Second World War, during which Italy was hard hit, with almost 90% of its factories razed to the ground.

Fortunately, the Malaguti factory escaped most of the bombardment and was able to emerge from the Second World War period more or less unscathed. She was able to seize the opportunity of the economic boom and the huge demand that took place after the war. In 1949, he adapted a small engine to his bicycles and this was the beginning of the ancestor of the Malaguti motorcycle. The starting model will be constantly improved with the addition of suspension, drum brakes and even a 50cc tank.

The company was mainly dedicated to the manufacture of bicycles, until around 1958, when it really entered the manufacture and sale of motorcycles.

In the late 1950s, real scooters and motorcycles were produced mainly by the Italian factory. The company enjoyed constant success and growth until 2010, when Malaguti began to experience some difficulties caused by Asian competition from low-cost motorcycles and scooters.

Following these problems, most of the production plants are closed, then recently in 2018, the Italian manufacturer was acquired by an Austrian group KSR.

Where to find the color code of your Malaguti motorcycle ?

You don't have the reference for your Malaguti shade ? So, you can consult the manufacturer's website, or consult your original booklet, which you can do if you bought your bike, your scooter, your motorcycle new.

Malaguti is an Italian brand and hundreds of thousands of customers own bikes or scooters from its factories. We therefore advise you to visit the Internet forums dedicated to the Italian brand. These forums are surely in Italian language. However, this is where you will have the best chance of finding your color code.
