Painting on a Derbi brand motorcycle is carried out in three stages: preparation with primer, application of the paint, and finishing with the clearcoat. We manufacture the colour codes of Italian motorcycles for you, including those of Derbi, available in cans or 400 ml aerosols.
We dispatch our parcels within 24 hours, and Derbi manufacturer colours are produced on the same day we receive your order. Ordering online is quick and easy: simply visit the product page for Derbi colour code paint, then select a quantity (between 250 ml and 2 litres).
Go to the basket page, choose a delivery method (at the office, at home, at a pickup point, or collect it free of charge from our factory), then proceed with payment.
The Derbi colour code must be sent to us by email immediately after placing the order.
If our colourist requires additional information or needs to check something with you, they will contact you by phone.
The type of paint we offer is professional-grade solvent-based paint (a classic, flammable and harmful automotive product). This type of paint dries faster and provides a finer coat. Solvent-based paints are superior in quality and durability to the modern water-based paints used by refinishers.
We offer two formats: aerosol or can. As detailed on the product page, small cans are already pre-diluted, while larger sizes come in kits containing paint and thinner separately.
At the bottom of the page, you will find all the accessories needed for your paintwork: filler, primers, clearcoats, abrasives and other consumables. If you have any questions about application, do not hesitate to contact our technical support 7 days a week at tech@stardustcolors.com.

Here are some practical tips to help you stack the odds in your favour and paint your motorcycle like a professional.are some practical tips that will help you stack the odds on your side to paint your motorcycle like a pro.
Preparing the substrate
In most cases, this will simply involve light sanding to create adhesion for the paint. Do not sand too finely or too coarsely; use 500-grit sandpaper.
If the Derbi part has been impacted or scratched deeply, you’ll need to carry out repairs rather than just preparation. Filler and filling primer will be required to restore a smooth surface.
Be sure to clean the surface thoroughly before painting: no moisture, dust, grease, or other contaminants should be present, even if invisible, as they will cause defects during the painting and varnishing stages.
Applying the Derbi paint
Once you’ve received your can of Derbi manufacturer paint, stir it well with a stick down to the bottom of the container, or shake the pot vigorously for 30 seconds.
Your Derbi paint may contain pearl or metallic components. To apply this type of motorcycle paint correctly, always use thin coats with fast movements from left to right, then right to left.
Check the spray distance: not too close, not too far. Use medium pressure for optimal spray control.
Clearcoating
This is the most delicate stage and the one that will crown all your work by giving the Derbi paint a beautiful glossy finish. The clearcoat must be applied immediately after the paint—without waiting.
Apply two glossy coats 10 minutes apart. Success depends on applying the correct quantity: not too much (which could cause runs), and not too little (which could cause an orange peel effect).
The history of the Derbi manufacturer
Derbi is a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer. As of 2022, the company is over 100 years old. The name comes from Catalan (DERivats de BIcicletes), taking the first syllables of each word: DER-BI.
The founder originally ran a small shop renting and repairing bicycles. Business was good and continued to grow, and in 1946, the founder began manufacturing motorised two-wheelers—true motorcycles.
The first Derbi 250 was unveiled to the public in 1950 at an international fair, shortly after the company was renamed “Nacional Motor Sa”.
The Derbi manufacturer enjoyed great success in competitive racing, especially during the 1970s and 1980s, winning numerous championships in the 50 cc and 125 cc classes.
Today, the Derbi factory is located near Barcelona, and specialises in producing scooters, motorcycles, and leisure off-road vehicles.
Where to find the colour code of your Derbi motorcycle ?
Motorcycle owners often contact us to ask for colour codes. Unfortunately, our answer is always the same: we cannot provide or search for colour codes, as there are too many references and no guaranteed way to identify a specific Derbi code.
Manufacturer colour codes are often used interchangeably across different models and years. There can be up to 30 different shades of white for the Derbi brand alone.
If you do not know your colour code, we recommend doing some research online—particularly on Spanish and English forums, where enthusiasts share their findings.
Thanks to our database, we can confirm whether a colour code is valid. Of course, you may also contact your Derbi dealer if you still have no answer.
