This post concerns only sprayable paints used in automotive and design.<\/em><\/strong>
\nBelow is a clarification for outsiders who wish to distinguish between the various names of paints used\u00a0!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lacquers<\/a> or 2K paints (solvent based). *don\u2019t exist in water based version<\/p>\n

They are paints with a hard, resistant, \u2018glossy finish\u2019 and as such don\u2019t need to be topcoated.<\/p>\n

These products are polyurethane based, thick paints and are bi-component because they always go with a hardener.
\nThe hardener will allow to trigger the hardening and the drying of the paint.
\nThey can be thinned reasonably up to 15%<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Advantages:\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong>
\n– Time saving (they are both paint and protective clear coat)
\n– High resistance to thinners, oils, alcohols\u2026<\/p>\n

Disadvantages:<\/span><\/strong>
\n– Very thick
\n– Long drying time
\n– Risks of sagging
\n– Once the hardener has been added, they must be used within 30mn, if not they will become \u00a0unusable<\/p>\n

They are mostly used for the painting of trucks\/buses and in industry.<\/p>\n
